Plus: Make Summer Memories, Not Just Schedules

Today’s the day! 👊

We only have a handful of spots left in our Free Parent Chat with a Former NFL Player and dad of two tennis players on when to flip the switch to train elite.

Get. On. It.

The One Thing Busy Moms Are Overlooking: Make Memories, Not Just Schedules

I’ve got a wonderful group of mom friends who are all amazing and like me, caught up in doing all the things. From managing careers, scheduling camps, sports, activities, volunteering, appointments, taking care of elderly, ordering swim stuff … I could go on and on.

But lately I’ve noticed something that’s troubling: amidst all our busyness, we can easily miss out on the fun part of parenting. As moms, we typically spend the most TIME with our children, but usually it’s while doing other tasks with them nearby - like emailing, cooking, folding,.

There will always be schedules, chores and logistics to manage, but I’m here to remind you (and myself):

Don’t forget to stop and have fun with your kids!

If you don’t now, you may regret it later.

Let that to-do list wait and plan some unstructured fun – a spontaneous trip to the ice cream shop, a backyard campout (complete with questionable marshmallow roasting skills!), or just some good old-fashioned board game throwdowns. Embrace some spontaneity. After all, these moments of laughter and adventure are the memories that will last a lifetime.

Dealing with Chores: How to Get From Ugh to Teamwork!

So speaking of chores, summer break is almost here! Yay!🙄
More time with the kiddos at home, managing the (ahem) “household symphony.” But listen up: chores don't have to be a constant battle. They can be a sneaky way to build teamwork and responsibility (and maybe even have a little fun!).

Here are three ways to get your kiddos to chip in during summer so all of you have time to enjoy summer fun:

Game On!

Forget the chore chart snoozefest. Turn it into a game! Award points for completed tasks, and the winner gets bragging rights, a movie night pick, or another small prize. You can even make it a family competition - working together to reach a goal and celebrating everyone’s contribution. High fives all around! ✋

Give Them Empowerment!

Give your kids some control. Let them choose chores they don’t totally despise, or decide the order they tackle them in. This sense of ownership is a win-win. They’ll feel more motivated (and maybe even a little proud!), and you'll still get a clean house (eventually!).

“Chore Chef” Rotation

Rotate the responsibility of assigning chores. Let your child be the “chore chef” for a day, creating a list for the family to complete. This can spark creativity and make chores feel less like a constant burden.
