Our monthly parent chat is TOMORROW! Led by Dr. Jayanthi, we will discuss top-of-mind questions like:
How can I manage a situation where my child wants to play different sports, but their coach wants them to train multiple days a week on just one?
How do I decide if it's the right time for my child to focus on one sport?
What are the good and bad things about specializing in a sport at a young age?
What are age-appropriate training schedules?
How can I support my child's sports goals while also managing their other responsibilities?
Only 5 open spots left to keep this an intimate discussion.

High Fives, Not Head Aches: Catch Your Kids Being Awesome

Ever feel like a broken record, constantly correcting your kiddos? We get it - between spilled juice boxes and forgotten homework, positive reinforcement can feel like a distant memory.
But here's the secret weapon you might be overlooking: Focusing on the good stuff! This week's tip is all about catching your kids being awesome, building their confidence, and creating a more positive household vibe. ✨
Tip: Flip the Script:
Instead of zeroing in on every little misstep, try actively seeking out the positive things your children do each day. Did they share their toys with a sibling? Offer to help with chores without prompting? Give them a specific shout-out!
Here’s how:
🧺 “I noticed that you put your dirty clothes away without being reminded — that was awesome!”
👦🏽 "Wow, you were so patient playing that game with your brother - you're a great team player!"
Believe it or not, these simple compliments can make a world of difference. Not only will your child feel good (hello, happy kiddos!), it can also encourage them to repeat those positive behaviors.
Autism Awareness Month #ActFearlesslyForChange
This April, we're hitting the field for a cause we deeply believe in: Autism Acceptance & Awareness Month. It's a time to raise awareness, celebrate the unique strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum, and advocate for inclusivity in all aspects of life, including sports! Here at Pickup Sports, we believe that teamwork makes the dream work, and that dream includes creating a safe and welcoming environment for every athlete, regardless of ability. Everyone deserves the chance to experience the joy of competition, build social connections, and reach their full potential on the field.
If you would like to know more, these amazing organizations are dedicated to supporting the autistic community:
Eagles Autism Foundation: Empowering individuals with autism through innovative therapies, educational programs, and vocational services.
Autism Speaks: Raising global awareness and funding research to accelerate progress in the understanding and treatment of autism spectrum disorder.
Autism Society: Providing lifelong learning, advocacy, and support services for people on the spectrum and their families.
